2010 was definitely a bounce back year for RnB star Chris Brown. He released 3 mix tapes that year. All three had album worthy material. But no song was more influential than Deuces. The slow up temp ballad feat Young Money rapper Tyga and the tracks producer Kevin McCall or KMac. The song gave Breezy his first number 1 single since 2007. It skyrocketed to number 1 on 106 & Park. The song earned Brown a Grammy nomination. Most importantly though it put him back in the spotlight and back @ 1. Sorry Trey Songz we love you but Chris is the Prince of RnB.

Nicki Minaj Pink Friday
In 2010 we saw many breakout stars like Drake and Willow Smith. To me though there was no bigger artist than Nicki Minaj. The New York/ Trinidad beauty dominated the charts with 6 yes 6 Billboard Hot 100 singles. She collaborated with Trey Songz, Dj Khaled, Diddy, Drake etc. Needless to say she was the Queen Bee. So which brings me to ask why is Lil Kim hating on Nicki? Could it be a turf thing. They both rep NY. Naw to me it seems like jealousy. Lil Kim can't handle the fact there is a new Queen in town. Heralbum debuted right behind Kanye's with 376,000 copies sold in its first. Pink Friday is the highest selling debut album for a female. Just recently Pink Friday was certified platinum. So again why is Lil Kim hating? Nicki has done nothing but pay homage to the Queen Bee. It's amazing that even though people hate on her she still is humble. Constantly showing love to her fans or Barbies as she calls them. So once more why all the negativity? Don't get me wrong I love Lil Kim. (90's baby) I grow up off 90's music so I get it.But you can't go at an artist because of jealousy. You don't see Jay-Z spazzing on Drake or Wayne. So why you gotta come with hate? Your place in Hip Hop is cemented let Nicki find her own. I believe Nicki will be around for a very long time. Go Barbz!!!!!

Chris Brown Still Standing
Chris Brown hit the music scene in 2005. His debut single Run It went straight to #1. His self titled debut album Chris Brown sold over 1.3 million records. Brown followed up his debut with his sophomore album Exclusive. Brown was ever and garnered much comparisons to Micheal Jackson. He was rumored to be dating pop star Rihanna. Both denied any romantically feelings towards each other. After a rehearsal for the 2009 Grammy awards Brown was said to have attacked Rihanna. Numerous rumors floated around the scandal Chris went from a beloved icon to a disgruntled superstar in a matter of weeks. Many shunned Chris having to want nothing to do with him. Everyone seemed to turn their back on him. He was blacklisted from major retailer like WalMart, major tv station like BET, also major award shows like the Grammys. When his world seemed to be falling apart his fans spoke out for him and protected him. They responded to all negativity by giving Chris his 3rd straight number 1 album Graffiti over 100k sold in the first week. Chris followed up in 2010 with Fan of a Fan mixtape. A duet with Young Money rapper Tyga. The mixtape had many bangers such as Deuces featuring Kevin McCall gave Chris his first number1 single since 2007. Chris took that momentum to the BET awards where gave a MJ tribute of a life time. He wowed the crowd and left many emotional and on their feet. This performance reminded everyone of what a great entertainer he is. So the story of Chris Brown's life won't be that of a shamed pop star, but rather some people love to learn. Some people wait their turn. It isn't the how you start but rather how you perform with your back up against the wall. The sky is the limit here in 2011. I smell a BREEZY TAKEOVER!
